Flatlander Running LLC was born out of a love for trail running and the ultrarunning community.
Rob Berry grew up on the coast of south Mississippi. After school he moved to Washington state courtesy of the US ARMY. It was there that he discovered a love for trails and mountains mainly by mountain bike or backpack. His love for running would come later; like 20+ years later.
After 5 years in the Army and almost daily running he had completed his obligation and left the Army and swore he’d never run again. That changed in 2020 when he and his friend won a lottery permit to backpack the Wonderland Trail. Rob resigned himself to start trail running to get his feet and legs in trail shape. After his first 2 mile trail “run” he was hooked. Before he knew it he was running several days a week and building mileage.
After Wonderland, at the urging of a friend, he signed up for a 50k. With only 5 weeks to prepare he began training and, 6 months after he started running, Rob Berry crossed the finish line of his first race: Walking Tall 50k. Since then, he has been obsessed with the sport. He resides and trains in the flatlands of Fayette County, Tennessee, about an hour outside of Memphis.
